Pope Leo XIV closed the 2026 Week of Prayer for Christian Unity with Vespers at the Basilica of St Paul Outside the Walls in Rome on 25 January, the feast of the Conversion of St Paul. Representatives of the Ecumenical Patriarchate, the Armenian Apostolic Church and the Anglican Communion prayed with him.

Reflecting on this year’s theme from Ephesians, he said that Christians are already one and are called to make that unity visible. He recalled praying the Nicene Creed at İznik in 2025, looked ahead to the two-thousandth anniversary of the Redemption in 2033, and thanked the Armenian Apostolic Church, which prepared this year’s material.
