In his Easter message, “The Intensity of Grace Amid a Wounded World”, Rev. Prof. Dr Upolu Luma Vaai, vice-chancellor of Pasifika Communities University (formerly the Pacific Theological College), reflected on the road to Emmaus in Luke 24.

He noted that the risen Christ still bears his wounds, and that the two disciples recognised him only after they had welcomed a stranger and broken bread with him. The message invites Christians to offer the same welcome to people who are hurting, and closes with a Samoan Easter greeting.
