A relic of St Carlo Acutis, the Italian teenager who was canonised in September 2025 and is often called the patron saint of the internet, was to tour New Zealand in June with an exhibition on eucharistic miracles. The visit extended a tour of Australia, arriving in Wellington on 6 June and leaving on 24 June.

Fr Marcus Francis of Palmerston North and Bishop Michael Gielen of Christchurch said they hoped the visit would encourage young people towards World Youth Day 2027 in South Korea.
