The Lutheran World Federation’s Easter message for 2026 was written by Rev. Rinki Rachel Soren of the Nepal Evangelical Lutheran Church, a youth member of the federation’s Council, who in 2025 became the first woman ordained as a pastor in her church.

Reflecting on Romans 6:6, she described how Christians in Nepal, a country of many faiths, celebrate Easter together at a rally across denominations, and drew four calls from the resurrection: to a new identity in Christ, to transformation, to unity and to hope.
