In their joint Easter message for 2026, Archbishops Don Tamihere, Sione Ulu’ilakepa and Justin Duckworth reflected on Jesus’ command to love one another as he has loved us. They described that love as radical and costly rather than a pleasant feeling, and saw in the Easter story the proof that love is stronger than hate.

They invited prayer for people who are displaced or oppressed and for communities under pressure from the cost of living, and encouraged people to love across difference.
