A WCC delegation, including the moderator of its central committee, Bishop Heinrich Bedford-Strohm, and general secretary Rev. Prof. Dr Jerry Pillay, met Pope Leo XIV on 28 February. They spoke about the decades of cooperation between the Vatican and the WCC and what more the churches might do together after last year’s 1700th anniversary of the Council of Nicaea, and agreed that Christ must stay at the centre of the search for visible unity.
