A joint pōwhiri in Meadowbank, Auckland, on 15 February opened the academic year for Trinity Methodist Theological College and the Anglican St John’s Theological College, Hoani Tapu, with students, staff and whānau of both colleges present. New tauira were formally welcomed, and returning students and teaching staff were acknowledged.

Te Aroha Rountree, president of the Methodist Church, described the shared welcome as a sign of the two colleges’ long partnership in preparing ministry leaders for Aotearoa, grounded in tikanga Māori, manaakitanga and kotahitanga.
