Rev. Prof. Dr Stephanie Dietrich, moderator of the WCC’s Faith and Order Commission, looked ahead to the commission’s October meeting in Lund, Sweden. She said it would build on the momentum of the Sixth World Conference on Faith and Order, held in Egypt last year, and give young theologians and the Nordic churches a strong place in the conversation.
Lund has a special place in ecumenical history: the Faith and Order conference held there in 1952 asked churches to act together in all matters except those where deep differences of conviction compel them to act separately.
