On World Mental Health Day, the Christian Conference of Asia encouraged churches to challenge the stigma around mental illness and to offer pastoral care in which people can talk about their struggles without shame.

Taking up the day’s theme of listening to lived experience, the statement from the general secretary, Rev. Jung Eun Grace Moon, asked that people with lived experience of mental illness help to shape church ministries, and encouraged churches to work alongside mental health professionals and community groups.
