Bishop Susan Hinemoa Wallace was ordained and installed as Bishop of Te Hui Amorangi ki te Waipounamu, the Māori Anglican church in the South Island, at the Transitional Cathedral in Christchurch on 6 June, with more than 500 people present.

The day began with a mihi whakatau and ended with a welcome onto Te Pā Mihinare and a hākari. The Primate of Brazil, Archbishop Marinez Bassotto, preached, and Bishop Susan wore the mitre and cope of her great-grand-uncle, Bishop Wiremu Nētana Pānapa.
