In the first Bush Telegraph column of 2026, the Moderator of the Presbyterian Church, Right Rev. Peter Dunn, wrote about preaching in late January at the dedication of the renewed buildings of Avondale Union Church in Auckland, after a multimillion-dollar project completed through years of perseverance. Rev. Saifaleupolu Si’itia-Asi led the service, Methodist colleagues took part, and a Samoan choir sang.

The column also describes a Sunday with a Korean church plant in central Auckland, whose street ministry offers conversation, prayer and hospitality to homeless people and others in the city.
