World Day of Prayer is a global ecumenical movement led by Christian women. It is held on the first Friday in March each year, with services in more than 170 countries.
The service is usually written by women from a different country each year. For 2027 it has been written by the World Day of Prayer International Committee, on the theme “United in Prayer for Justice and Peace!”
World Day of Prayer Aotearoa New Zealand is the national committee for the day, and its website has details as they become available. It is a good opportunity for neighbouring churches to pray together, and we encourage you to look out for a service in your area.
