Churches in the southern hemisphere, here in Aotearoa New Zealand among them, kept the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity from 17 to 24 May, between Ascension and Pentecost. The theme, from Ephesians 4:4, was the one hope of our calling, and the WCC encouraged churches to take up unity as a living expression of faith rather than an abstract ideal.
