The Methodist Church of New Zealand’s Conference for 2026 was set for Wesley College, Paerata, from 2 to 7 October, under the theme “Maranga! Tula‘i! Tu‘u Hake! Tucake! Arise, be the light of Christ to all”.
Its centrepiece was to be the induction of Rev. Alisa Lasi as president and Tau’ataina Tupou as vice-president, the church’s first Pasifika presidential team. The programme also included a pōwhiri, an ordination, a Covenant Service, thanks for fourteen retiring ministers, and guests from the Methodist churches of Samoa, Tonga, the Solomon Islands and Fiji.
