Rev. Tony Franklin-Ross reported that members of the Methodist and Roman Catholic dialogue in Aotearoa met in early December 2025 at the Pompallier Centre in St Mary’s Bay, Auckland, and crossed the road to see the Sisters of Mercy’s kauri chapel, built in 1865. Rev. David Poultney introduced the Methodist Covenant Service, and at Bishop Stephen Lowe’s invitation the group talked about whether it could shape an ecumenical service, perhaps during a planned joint pilgrimage to Hokianga.

The group also plans to study We Believe in One God, the December 2025 report marking sixty years of international dialogue between Methodists and Catholics.
