Closer: a Lent series from the Lutheran World Federation

The Lutheran World Federation launched a seven-week Lent series, “Closer: on the way to the cross”, which ran from Ash Wednesday, 18 February, to 4 April. Daily reflections on its website and social media explored drawing closer to God, to ourselves, to our neighbour, to creation, to justice, to one another and to the cross.
Rev. Dr Anupama Hial, who leads the federation’s work on public theology, said that Lent invites us to come close to difficult realities we might prefer to avoid, and to discover that God is already there.
